Teacher Outreach and Coaching

Our programs aim to build teacher capacity in inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and the implementation of neurodiversity-affirming practices. Our school-based coaching program involves placing trained coaches (often experienced special educators, instructional coaches, or behavioral specialists) in schools to work directly with teachers. Their goal is to help general and special education teachers improve their instructional practices for neurodivergent students.

Key elements include:

  • Increasing teacher knowledge of neurodevelopmental differences.
  • Supporting inclusive teaching practices that accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Promoting Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and other flexible frameworks.
  • Improving behavioral and social-emotional support strategies.
  • Fostering collaboration among general educators, special educators, and support staff.

Academic

Reading

The Wilson Method - The Wilson Reading System® directly teaches the structure of words in the English language, aiming to help students learn the coding system for reading and spelling. The program provides interactive lesson plans and uses a sequential system with extensive controlled text.  The Wilson Reading System® is structured to progress from phoneme segmentation to more challenging tasks, and seeks to improve sight word knowledge, fluency, vocabulary, oral expressive language development, and reading comprehension.

Writing

The Hochman Method - This methodology rests on explicit, carefully sequenced instruction, building from sentences to compositions. The Hochman Method is not a separate writing curriculum but rather an approach designed to be adapted to and embedded in the content being taught in any subject area and at any grade level.
